Ariva

The Ariva delivers blistering performance and engaging musicality within a wide range of budget systems. Ariva is an affordable and easily positioned floor-standing, three-way design featuring separate chambers for each high-technology driver, a braced and resonance controlled enclosure and a separate isolating plinth.

Each Ariva drive unit is separated into its own compartment, substantially reducing mechanical interference thereby providing a predictable acoustic performance not possible in conventionally configured loudspeakers. Non-parallel enclosure surfaces reduce internal standing waves and create a visually stunning loudspeaker, available in a range of modern, real wood veneers.

Naim’s own thermally stable aluminium mass damping is incorporated to control and reduce resonance.

The separate plinth combines isolating cones and spikes, ideally controlling the critical interface between loudspeaker and floor.

The Ariva drive units: The two 180mm bass-mid drivers feature a computer modelled aluminium chassis with airflow-optimised profile. The multi-roll surround, wood fibre cone, dust cap and low distortion magnet system all contribute to the high power handling and astonishing control of the Ariva. The 19mm wide-dispersion tweeter features a copper-clad aluminium voice coil, a dual concentric diaphragm and wave-guide centre plug.

As with all Naim products, standards of manufacture equal those of design to ensure the perfect matching of the drive units and all other acoustic elements.

The Ariva is designed to be easy to position and set up, ensuring consistently engaging results in every situation. The lack of resonance and mechanical interference provides a life-like effortlessness, realising all of the music’s natural qualities.

CD5i CD player

The extensive research carried out before the original CDS could be built has been fully employed in producing the integrated CD5i CD player. We have made as few compromises as possible to ensure that this machine offers complete musical satisfaction, rivalling that of the finest analogue turntables.

As with the flagship player, integrity and stability of the RF signals read by the laser have been prime design considerations. A suspended transport and low mass magnetic clamping system ensures that the disc spins accurately and silently, unhindered by mechanical resonance.

Paths between critical components are as short as possible to preserve delicate signals and each stage of the circuitry is powered by separate regulated supplies. Correct earthing is used throughout and there are no digital or headphone outputs.

The CD5i features a unique power supply incorporating separate digital and analogue transformer windings and additional screening to reduce the intrusion of RF interference from the mains supply.

Microphonic degradation of sound quality is greatly reduced by the use of low-energy-transfer feet and unique decoupling pillars for circuit board mounting combined with a stiff, low-vibration enclosure.

The CD5i offers convenient front loading using a custom-made, glass reinforced drawer mechanism, the mass of which has been carefully calculated to optimise rigidity and isolation.

There抯 a long Naim tradition of the NAIT Integrated Amplifier punching above its weight. It began with the original NAIT in 1983 and continues now with the NAIT 5i. The NAIT 5i takes all that抯 best about the tradition, and all that抯 best about its 5 Series companions.

Versatility is vital for an entry level amplifier. The Nait 5i makes integration with existing systems easy by incorporating phono socket inputs alongside the traditional DIN sockets, and offers the possibility of use with a wide range of speaker cable types. Integration with audio visual systems is handled through a programmable 搖nity gain?input. The 5i is intuitive in use too. A true plug and play product.

The 5i抯 construction and aesthetic borrow directly from the acclaimed 5 Series. It features zinc die-casting, combined with aluminium extrusions and covers, which together result in a rigid case that offers great immunity to the effects of external vibration.
