Poeta Preamplifier 

The Emotive Audio Poeta Linestage preamplifier offers performance that hints at its lineage. In fact, the Poeta incorporates many features of its relative--the model Sira line stage preamplifier--but with a few changes.

Both the Sira and Poeta audio circuits are based on the superb sounding 5687 twin-triode voltage amplifier tube and the super linear 6186 cathode follower tube. Both the Sira and Poeta use these great sounding audio tubes in extremely simple audio circuits. And, each uses an elaborate support system of voltage regulators and high impedance current sources to create an optimal environment for the operation of the audio tubes.

But, while the Sira is an all vacuum tube design, the Poeta is a hybrid. Where the Sira incorporates vacuum tube-type circuitry for the power supply's voltage regulation and high impedance current sources, the Poeta uses carefully implemented solid state circuitry for these tasks--each meeting the same need in different ways.

Think of it this way: the 5687 twin triode is an excellent voltage amplifier with the potential to amplify the audio signal--your music--with great integrity. But, the unfortunate fact of audio circuits is that the potential of tubes like the 5687 (or any other audio tube) is almost never realized. This is because tubes require specific operating environments--electrically speaking--to reach their potential--operating environments that are difficult to provide.

The reason these environments are so hard to provide is that, often, the values that define them are in direct conflict with each other within conventional audio circuit designs. This is where the Sira and Poeta are unlike more conventional preamplifiers. We've eliminated the conflicting needs within their audio circuits through the use of high impedance current sources in place of both the plate and cathode resistors for the audio tubes. The result is that these tubes can operate in a much more linear manner than in conventional circuits. And, this yields real improvement in audio quality--allowing the music to come through more freely.

Sira Preamplifier 

At the heart of the Sira's audio circuit are its superb sounding 5687 twin-triode voltage amplifier and the super linear 6186 cathode follower tubes. We've configured these into an extremely simple audio circuit, but with an elaborate support system of voltage regulators and high impedance current sources to create an optimal operating environment for these tubes.

Think of it this way: the 5687 twin triode and 6186 cathode follower have the potential to amplify your music's audio signal with great integrity. Unfortunately, the potential of these (or any other) great audio tubes can not be realized within the constraints of conventional audio design. This is because tubes require electrically specific operating environments to reach their potential--operating environments that are difficult to provide.

The Sira is an all vacuum tube design. We've incorporated vacuum tube-type circuitry for the power supply's rectification, voltage regulation and high impedance current sources. This approach has proven to be the ultimate for providing musical sounding support circuits for the Sira's audio tubes.

The Sira is hand crafted using point-to-point wiring for its audio and power supply circuitry. Its chassis is constructed from thick brushed stainless steel and solid granadillo wood to provide a strong non-magnetic structure for its circuitry. The result is a superior sounding and elegant looking product.

Caeli-LE Mono Power Amplifier 

The Emotive Audio Caeli-LE mono power amplifiers offer top-tier performance and design. The Caeli--LEs are a single-ended 300B design, but are different from conventional SE amps in several ways. First, the Caeli-LEs use a direct cathode follower driver for the 300B power tube. The cathode follower driver's low impedance allows it to better control the 300B for improved linearity and better sound. This step-up in performance is taken even further with our active load circuit for the cathode follower tube. Conventional circuits tend to load the cathode follower tube inadequately which is detrimental to the circuits overall performance. But, by loading the cathode follower with an active, high impedance current source, we eliminate these problems. This yields greatly improved audio quality. And, as a direct drive circuit, there is no coupling capacitor to degrade the audio between the driver tube and the 300B.

As with any SE design, the Caeli-LE's power supply has a significant effect on its audio performance. So, we've given very careful consideration to the audio circuits power requirements. Each Caeli-LE mono amplifier uses three separate power transformers and three separate filter chokes as well as a variety of high quality filter capacitors and resistors.

In both the power supply and audio circuits, the Caeli-LE's component parts quality is stellar. We use Black Gate filter capacitors, ASC polypropylene in oil filter capacitors, Mills resistors, Cardas RCA jacks, our own specially made polypropylene and tin foil coupling capacitors, and a host of other carefully selected component parts. As with all of our products, each of the parts we've selected for the Caeli-LEs was chosen after exhaustive listening tests.

Finally, it is obvious looking at the Caeli-LEs that they are unlike any other audio product available. Each set is truly a hand made work of art. Our metal chassis are individually designed and acid etched for us by Evy Rogers of Jacob-Rogers art furniture--highly respected metal artists. Each piece is signed and there are no repeated designs. Our standard finish is a bright nickel plate with beautiful Granadillo wood.
